Step-by-step case configuration – guide

Do you have a product and are looking for the right case for it? This is exactly where your journey to your bespoke sample case begins.
Simply use our case configurator as a first step to put together your bespoke sample case, explore the options and get a feel for which case range might suit your product.

It’s that easy to use the Faisst case configurator

Step 1:

Choose the right case model

The first step is to ask the most important question: what do you need your case to do for your product? Do you need it to present samples to customers in a high-quality manner? To transport a delicate piece of equipment safely? To display a product range clearly? Or to equip your sales team professionally?

Start by selecting the case model from the Faisst aluminium or plastic case ranges that best suits your application. At this stage, it’s not about every technical detail, but about choosing the right direction: presentation, protection, transport or mobile use.

Step 2:

Decide:
Suitcase or trolley?

In the next step, use the configurator to choose whether you’d like to put together a classic suitcase or a trolley.

A suitcase is particularly suitable if you want your product to be presented in a compact, portable and high-quality manner. A trolley is the right choice if weight, distance or regular transport are more important factors – for example, when working in the field, at trade fairs or during frequent client meetings.

We can discuss further details with you once you’ve submitted your enquiry.

Step 3:

Select the design and accessories

Now you can put together the key features of your case. Following the ‘form follows function’ principle, use the configurator to select the finish, profiles and size to suit your product and its intended use.

Using the ‘i’ drop-down menu on the right, you can select and customise additional accessories and promotional printing. Your selections are automatically compiled in the ‘Your Configuration’ summary table. This allows you to keep track of what you have already chosen at all times.

The configurator helps you get an initial idea of what your case will look like. A technical review will then be carried out by our specialist advisers.

Step 4:

Check your configuration

When you’ve finalised your initial configuration, you can simply submit it. You’ve now done the hard part, and we’ll take care of drawing up the quotation. This isn’t an order yet, but the next logical step towards your personalised sample case.

We know that this is precisely where prospective customers are sometimes still unsure whether the size, features or model are really right for them. Your enquiry will be reviewed personally by our sales specialists.

Step 5:

Request a quote

Please check your configuration once more and add any important details before submitting your enquiry. Enter the required quantity, briefly describe your product or its intended use, and add any further comments if necessary. You can upload a photo of your product samples directly – this will give us an initial idea of how your products are to be arranged inside the case.

As there are so many different case configuration options – and you may also have specific requirements – we can only calculate the price once we have received your enquiry.
Start configuring your case and make a no-obligation enquiry.

Step 6:

We review and refine your enquiry

Save time and use the Faisst Case Configurator as a simple first step towards your bespoke case solution. Your configuration will provide an initial visualisation and give us a concrete basis on which to develop your sample case for you.

Based on your selection, we will assess what best suits your product, your area of application and your requirements. We’ll advise you personally on sensible adjustments, optional extras and optimisations – so that your case presents your products safely, clearly and effectively.

Case design

Please send us your sample products so that we can plan the case size and the required accessories as effectively as possible.

Staff in the production planning department design a suitcase insert based on the customer’s products, arrange them in the best possible way to ensure they look attractive, and take photographs of them.

Planning the case insert

To ensure that your sample products are presented to the best advantage and sit securely, we plan the layout of the case insert and the visual effect of the items in relation to one another, based on your specific items. Electronic components can also be integrated on request.

Production of a sample case

Before your chosen case model goes into mass production, we can produce a sample case for you in advance. This will allow you to see what it looks like and how it feels to the touch.

FAQ

Can the configurator be used to configure non-standard sizes as well as the standard sizes?

The configurator includes the three standard sizes: S, M and L. We generally also manufacture our cases to individual specifications, exactly as requested by our customers, upon personal enquiry. In addition to these bespoke cases, we have a small standard range, which can also be purchased via the online shop.

Is there also a minimum order quantity for the configurator?

We generally produce orders of 5 items or more. As the customised cases are manufactured specifically to your requirements, it is not possible to order just one item. For this, we recommend our online shop, where some case models can be ordered individually.

What is the Faisst Case Configurator designed for?

The configurator is designed for preliminary configuration and helps you develop an initial idea for your bespoke sample case in just a few steps. You can view various options, select the features that suit you, and obtain a starting point for your subsequent enquiry.

Do I need to know exactly which case is suitable for my product?

No. The configurator is designed precisely to help you get your bearings initially. You can select options that might suit your product, your intended use and your desired presentation, and test how the various colour combinations look. Faisst will then carry out a technical review. Our specialist advisers can also, if you wish, suggest special RAL colours and further customisations.

Does the configuration already constitute an order?

No. When you submit your configuration, you are initially making a non-binding enquiry. This does not yet result in an order, but rather forms the basis for a personalised consultation and a bespoke quote.

When is a suitcase best, and when is a trolley more suitable?

A suitcase is particularly suitable for compact samples, product sets and high-quality presentations. A trolley is more suitable when weight, longer distances or regular transport are key factors, for example when working in the field or at trade fairs.

Why isn’t the price shown straight away?

As there are many different ways to configure the suitcases and we need to take into account individual requirements, quantities and optional extras, the price is only calculated by our specialists once we have received your enquiry.

What information will help Faisst to prepare a quotation?

It would be helpful to provide the quantity you require, a brief description of your product or its intended use, and any specific requirements. If you already have product samples, you can also upload a photo so that Faisst can better assess how your products should be arranged inside the case.

Where can I see what I’ve already selected?

Your selected features are grouped together in the ‘Your Configuration’ overview in the configurator. This allows you to keep track of your selections at all times.

Can I have the outside of the suitcase printed with a design of my choice?

In the configurator, you can select the option ‘Full-surface print’ or ‘Logo print’ in the ‘i’ drop-down column on the right. In your configuration overview, you can specify your requirements under ‘Product details’. You can also attach an image of your products and (if available) a design of the planned print in line with your corporate identity. This will allow us to see what print you have in mind for your sample case.
